Explore Our Tours & Walks
At Land & Legend Trails, for us walking is about more than steps and scenery, it’s about connection. Connection to the landscape beneath your feet, to the stories shaped by time, and to the simple pleasure of being outdoors in good company.
Ireland’s myriad landscapes — from coastlines and mountain valleys to city streets — hold layers of story and we Irish love a good story. The granite that built towns and harbours. Old paths once used by pilgrims, traders and travellers. Quiet places where myth, memory and history still seem close to the surface. When we slow down and take our time walking through these places, they begin to reveal themselves.
Our walks are designed to be relaxed, friendly and full of small discoveries. We move at a comfortable pace, pause often, and look beyond what’s obvious — exploring the geology, nature, history, folklore and human stories that give each place its character and shape the Ireland we see today.
Whether you’re visiting Ireland for the first time or rediscovering familiar ground, the aim is simple: to share a great walk, hear a few good stories, and leave with a deeper sense of the place.
Walk The Land. Discover The Legend.

If you want to explore the stories hidden along Dublin’s coastline then, The Granite Coast Tour is for you.
This is a relaxed coastal walk from Dún Laoghaire to Dalkey, where we follow the curve of the bay with the sea on one side and layers of history on the other. The same Wicklow granite beneath your feet built the harbour walls, the Martello towers, local churches — and even parts of London. On this tour, we bring that stone to life.
Along the way, we explore how Dún Laoghaire Harbour was built after a tragic maritime disaster, how the railway transformed Victorian seaside life, and why Dalkey was once a Viking trading port. We pass historic towers built to defend against Napoleon, hear stories of writers like Joyce, and take in some of the best coastal views in Ireland.
It’s not a history lesson but a story of ambition, survival, engineering, and everyday life by the sea.
Expect fresh air, big views, great conversation, and a deeper appreciation of the landscape that shaped Dublin and far beyond.
Suitable for visitors, locals, and anyone who enjoys walking, storytelling, and discovering the meaning behind the places we think we already know.

If you’re looking to experience Glendalough in a quieter, more atmospheric way, Glendalough After Hours – An Evening in the Valley is the walk for you.
We begin as the day starts to wind down, when the crowds thin and the valley begins to settle into a different rhythm. Moving through woodland and towards the monastic city, the familiar sights of round towers, crosses, and ancient stone take on a new feel in the softer evening light. Here, we explore not just the story of St. Kevin and his community, but why this remote glacial valley was chosen as a place of solitude, refuge, and reflection.
From there, we follow a gentle route deeper into the valley as the light begins to fade and the noise of the day slips away. There is the option to climb towards the Spinc, where the boardwalk leads us to one of the finest viewpoints in Wicklow — looking down over the Upper and Lower Lakes as the evening light settles across the valley. For those who prefer to stay lower, we can instead take the quieter road towards the old miner’s village, tracing a different layer of Glendalough’s story through its industrial past.
With fewer people around, there’s space to slow down and take in the landscape properly — the lakes, the surrounding mountains, and the sense of quiet that has defined this place for centuries. As dusk deepens, we will likely use headtorches for parts of the walk, adding to the sense of being out in the valley as day turns to night.
Along the way we weave together the story of the monks, the shaping of the valley by ice, and the deeper atmosphere of Glendalough as evening arrives. There are moments to pause, to look, and simply to experience the place as it begins to feel more remote and timeless.
It’s not just a walk through Glendalough — it’s a chance to experience the valley as it quietens down, away from the rush of the day.
Expect fresh evening air, soft light across the lakes, great conversation, and a more personal connection to Gleann Dá Loch — the Valley of the Two Lakes.
Suitable for visitors, locals, and anyone who enjoys walking, storytelling, and experiencing places in a different way.

If you think the hills are beautiful by day, wait until you see them at night.
Our Night Walks are gentle, guided evening walks around Dublin and Wicklow where we slow things down and experience the landscape in a completely different way. As the sun sets and darkness settles in, the noise fades, the crowds disappear, and your senses begin to sharpen.
We walk at an easy pace using headtorches when needed, letting our eyes adjust naturally to the light of the moon and stars. Along the way, we’ll chat about constellations, local folklore, nocturnal wildlife, and how our ancestors would have experienced these same hills without streetlights or screens.
There’s something grounding about walking under a dark sky — it’s quiet, reflective, and surprisingly calming. It’s also great fun. Expect laughter, shared stories, and that slightly magical feeling of being somewhere you wouldn’t normally be after dark.
These hikes are suitable for beginners and families (typically 12+), and no previous night walking experience is needed — just a sense of curiosity and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.
Because sometimes the best way to see the land is when you can’t quite see it at all.
