My name is Ian and I’m the founder of Land & Legend Trails.

I’ve always believed the best way to understand Ireland is to walk it — to spend time in the landscape and let the place reveal its stories.

I’m a qualified Lowland Leader and National Tour Guide, and currently training as a Mountain Leader. I love bringing people out into Ireland’s landscapes in a way that is relaxed, welcoming and unhurried. On my walks we don’t just follow a path — we explore the layers of story in the land. From ancient sites and historic towns to rocky coastlines, quiet countryside and wild hills, I like to weave together history, folklore, nature and the small details many people pass by.

Before this chapter of my life I spent more than twenty years working in technology leadership. These days I’m happiest outdoors. Land & Legend Trails is simply my way of sharing what I love about this island — its landscapes, its stories, and the sense of connection you feel when you slow down and experience them on foot.
